Shalom Sharon, born 1971 in Tel Aviv, began his hairstyling training in
1985 upon entering The High beauty School. While in school, he studied
and trained in every aspect of hairstyling, specializing in haircutting,
styling and color chemistry. Soon thereafter, Shalom entered the
Israeli Army for his mandatory service. He served as women's
hairdresser at the base in Tel Aviv for three years.
After completing his military service, Shalom was immediately hired at
the one of the top salons in Israel and is frequented by many Israeli
celebrities.
Shalom quickly began to work on photo shoots for many top Israeli
publications and his career as an editorial hair stylist began and
flourished.
At the age of 24, Shalom arrived in New York City, the international
stage for a hair stylist. It took just a few short months for Shalom to
make a name for himself. He joined a top Madison Avenue salon in 1998
where he quickly began to build an elite New York clientele and a
reputation for cutting curly hair.
While working at the top salons in Manhattan, Shalom soon began to work
as an Editorial hairstylist and at many of the top shows during Fashion
Week in New York and Paris. Now, Shalom works exclusively on shoots and
shows. Shalom has been a hairstylist for the runway presentations of
Anna Sui, Marc Jacobs, Alexander McQueen, Carolina Herrera and Ralph
Lauren. His editorial work can be seen in publications aroun the world........

Living up to his name, Shalom Sharon helps clients make peace with their curly hair. Although his salon didnt open until 2006, he actually found his calling years earlier, in his native Tel Aviv first learning his trade in a high school beauty academy then finessing it as a womens hairdresser in the Israeli Army. Once he landed in New York, Sharons scissor skills attracted swathes of editorial attention; plus hes styled hair for designers like Anna Sui, Marc Jacobs and Alexander McQueen. Sharon sees a regular brigade of curly-topped clients, who faithfully book him weeks in advance to help tame their strong-willed manes. Sharons cuts can be styled curly, straight or somewhere in between, and devotees say his cutting technique somehow defies frizz. Ringlet-free clients are also welcome to pop in for cuts, color and extensions.Molly Noonan
